When we eat sushi we usually don’t think about how easy it is to make. It just looks too fiddly and intricate to possibly get perfect. But if you have the right ingredients and a little patience then you’ll be ale to make sushi with no problem.

Here’s a step by step guide on how to make can adapt our recipe by adding whatever you want inside.



1/2 Pack of Sushi rice

1 tsp Distilled Vinegar

1/2 tsp Sugar

2-3 Sheets of Nori

1 Bamboo Sheet

1/2 an Avocado

Sprinkle of Garlic Salt

Coriander (as much as you like)

Peanut Butter (as much as you like)

Sprinkle of Cayenne Pepper

1/2 Lime (juice)

Sprinkle of Dessicated coconut

Bowl of water





  • Boil half a pack of sushi rice in a pan with 1 1/2 cups of water
  • Add your vinegar and sugar and stir into the ice
  • Boil your rice for 3 minutes
  • Then simmer the water with pan lid on and check on rice every minute or so to see if all water has evaporated
  • Once all water is evaporated leave on the side to cool down completely




  • Once rice has cooled down completely, get 1 nori sheet and bamboo sheet ready
  • Place your nori sheet exactly at the bottom of the bamboo sheet (as seen in the image)




  • Spread a generous amount of rice on the nori sheet but leave a 1cm gap at the top (as seen in the image)
  • The best way to spread the rice is with your fingers, so keep a bowl of water near by to prevent the rice sticking to your hands




  • Spread an even amount of peanut butter onto the bottom of the rice
  • Add sliced avocado, coriander, garlic salt, cayenne pepper, lime juice and dessicated coconut




  • Your sushi should look like this
  • It should not be piled too high, too close to the edge or further than the middle of the rice




  • Now you want to role from the bottom along with the bamboo sheet
  • Role about 1 cm and make a small pinch from top to bottom (along the sushi role)
  • Make another role and pinch again from top to bottom
  • Keep doing this until it begins to make the sushi shape (like above)
  • When you get to the 1 cm section that is left without rice, run water along the nori to make it sticky
  • Then make the last role and pinch to make it all secure

*When you pinch the sushi you want to do it quite firmly so none of the ingredients inside fall out



  • Leave the sushi roles in the fridge to harden the rice and cool the sushi down
  • Once the sushi is cool (at least 1 hour) slice into 2 cm pieces
  • Serve sushi with soy sauce and pickled ginger
